Redirecting to a page based on the time of day TimeRedirect lets you display a different page, based on the time set in the viewer's computer. For example, when a viewer loads the page or clicks an image, the browser can be redirected to another page depending on the time of day. You can even set it to go to one page before a specified hour and another on or after that hour. So, for example, you can set up your Web site to display one page during the day and another at night. The action is reset at midnight. Note: Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer retrieve the date information when the browser is first launched. If the computer's date is changed without restarting the browser (for example, to test the action), the new date is not noticed by the action.
To apply the TimeRedirect action: 1 Set up the action trigger as described in Setting up actions. 2 Choose Actions Plus > TimeRedirect in the Action Inspector or the Actions palette. 3 For Time, enter the hour before or after you want the redirection to occur. 4 Select PM to set the hour as PM. Leave it unselected to set the hour as AM. 5 Select Before Location, and link to a page or URL to display before that time. Leave this option unselected to prevent the redirection from occurring before the selected time. 6 Select At/After Location, and link to a page or URL to display at or after the specified time. Leave this option unselected to prevent the redirection from occurring at or after the selected time. Using Actions > Using Actions Plus actions > Redirecting to a page based on the time of day |
